EKO Instruments USA Inc. Over 90 years of Japanese reliability & precision in solar energy sensors, environmental science, and material analysis. (“EKO”) designed and built instruments are deployed throughout the United States and around the world, supporting environmental research and renewable energy projects through continuous innovation, industry-leading turn-key solutions, and an uncompromising commitment to quality.
In 2016, EKO Instruments re-invented the pyranometer, launching the MS-80, the first IEC 61724-1 Class A compliant and ISO 9060:2018 Spectrally Flat & Fast Response Class A sensor in the world. Today, we continue to lead the industry with an unbeatable range of sensors and solutions that help our customers to deliver clear ROI and achieve their goals.
Where EKO Instruments leads, other solar sensor manufacturers, follow. Since 1927, EKO has established a history of firsts, time and again redefining expectations for scientific instruments, pushing the limits of accuracy, build quality, speed, and functionality.
In 2013, EKO Instruments became the first solar sensor manufacturer in the world to achieve ISO 17025 accreditation at our international testing and calibration laboratory in Tokyo, Japan and today, EKO is still the only manufacturer to own and operate its own PV plants.
More than a unique test-bed for research & development, our solar parks have a combined annual power generation capacity of nearly 2.8 GWh and give us a unique understanding of the challenges our customers face, helping us to develop the solutions they need to achieve their goals.
As the solar energy industry continues to grow and evolve, so too has EKO, with a focus on small to utility-scale PV and the rapid development and diversification in solar energy applications, especially solar-powered vehicles. Through the EKO | EMPOWER programme, we work with leaders in solar car development and provide industry-leading environmental instruments and support to young engineers and teams worldwide, including America’s No.1, the University of Michigan Solar Car Team.
Our vision, to ‘lead with commitment, inspire with innovation, and engineer solutions for a more sustainable world’ will guide the next 100-years of EKO engineering, building on the standards that, for nearly a century, have driven us to develop industry-leading sensors, instruments and solar energy monitoring solutions.
