Instead, the Commerce Department is on track to wipe out nearly half of all solar jobs and force a surrender on the President’s climate goals.””

The tight rope of geopolitics and actual national security, where will (we) go from here?

“A total of 318 projects accounting for 51 GW of solar capacity and 6 GWh of attached battery storage are being canceled or delayed. ”

I have come across some reports that suggest, the U.S. to be on track for this decarbonization of the grid by 2035 will require some mix of about 80GW per year until 2035 of solar PV, Wind generation and most likely a hundred-fold increase in distributed energy storage facilities across the U.S. I have come across estimates that several TWh generation and energy storage needs to be constructed into a national interconnected wholesale grid to shuttle energy from coast to coast and north to south. As of right now most transmission line projects take right at 10 years from concept to construction, the decarbonization “mandate” means NOTHING at this point in time. The U.S. right now is really good at creating red tape and tariff protectionist obstructions to the mass adoption of renewable energy that will leave a bad taste in the mouths of the next generation to inherit the Earth.
