As the off-grid solar market grows, many solar professionals are considering offering services to this segment as a smart business move. But off-grid projects have different considerations that are important to note for a proper installation. To tell us more, we spoke with Sequoya Cross of off-grid supplier Backwoods Solar.
Read the Q&A here.
I am a 35 year veteran of the solar business, with my professional roots deep in the off grid markets in the US and abroad. I found Sequoya’s interview refreshingly simple, direct and clear. Thank you for the Podcast.
I am now deeply involved in financing solar and also introducing a new battery (Firefly Energy) that uses a carbon foam plate rather than lead plates. This battery, originally developed at Caterpillar, has gone through extensive testing – it is the best battery in the business for partial state of charge operation with three to four times the life of AGM and other lead acid batteries. We are just starting commercialization.
I would appreciate hearing back from Sequoya re the batteries and also possibly offering financing for their systems. Anand Rangarajan, Cambridge Capital
