This thread has been on top of several epiphanies on how China has postured themselves in the solar PV manufacturing arena. Articles about basically the “lack of” silicon based solar PV cells, the silicon foundries and finished solar PV product in the U.S, and on the World scale is pretty much “owned” by China. China (owns) more silicon foundry real estate and capacity than most of the World combined, DUH, of course China is gaming the system by owning the largest, foundries, manufacturing plants and the supply chain for most of the solar PV made Worldwide. Countering with tariffs is childish ignorance of manufacturing, commerce, and the inability to “try” and save “maybe” 4,000 jobs in mostly automated plants while raising prices on the supply chain into (this) country which drives customers to postpone projects “until things cool down” which also effects solar PV and wind generation costs putting installers and ancillary jobs on hold of perhaps 100,000 workforce. That’s higher costs and a 25 to 1 loss of paying taxpayers who are stuck looking for “other work” or waiting for a stupid political trend to blow over. Gina Raimondo should have been gone months ago, today would be nice and tomorrow too late to stop the damage once again.
